Non Verbal Analogy - Identify Set Of Unrelated Figure

Identify Set Of Unrelated Figure: In this type of questions on analogy, a related pair of figures is provided followed by four other pairs of figures. The pair in the question figure depicts a particular relationship between the figures I and II. The four pairs are numbered as A, B, C and D. Out of these four pairs, any three have relationship similar to that in the question figure. Only one pair of figures does not have similar relationship. The candidate has to choose the unrelated pair.

Illustration: In the following question, a related pair of figures is given in the question and is followed by four other pairs of figures numbered as A, B, C and D. Out of these four numbered pairs, three have relationship similar to that in the question figure. Only one pair of figures does not have similar relationship. Select the pair of figures which does not have a similar relationship to that in the question figure.

A

B

C

D

Answer: D

Solution: In the question figure we see that the element in figure II has one more side as compared to the element in Figure I. On analysing the options we see that all the pairs except the pair in option D follow the rule. The element in figure I of option D has five sides where as the element in Figure II of option D has four side.

A

B

C

D

Answer : B

Solution: In the question figure we see that the element in Figure I has rotated through 180 degree in clockwise direction to form the element of Figure II. On analysing the options we see that all the pairs except the pair in option B follow the rule. Hence option B is the correct answer.
